The Inaugural Australian Indigenous Cancer Survivors Forum was well attended by 44 keen participants. We had a number of speakers who were happy to share their survivorship stories and the day was a success. Below are some comments we received:
"First I would like to congratulate organisers of the Inaugural Australian Indigenous Cancer Survivors Forum 2010 on a job well done. My name is Christine Fewquandie and I am the Manager of the Burringilly Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Aged & Disabled Persons at Woodridge and we had a group of clients who were survivors or carers of Cancer patients and they totally enjoyed the day and found the information and presenters every interesting." "Organise more forums"
"To have more Indigenous doctors, counsellors to be more accessible"
"Need to hold more forums - local, state-wide and national as talking about your condition is a path way to healing" "Thank you for today it really was an eye-opener"
"This was a great start and well organised event. I would like to see this extended to non-Indigenous men" "Liked the forum very much, would like to see a national forum" For more information please contact forum organiser at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
